Half Yards at Yard House
Holy hangover Friday. I couldn’t be more glad this week is over.
Lucky for me, I had a little visitor arrive yesterday to make my week just a little bit brighter.
Paul’s here!!
I was starving, but I decided to forego my usual afternoon snack to save my appetite for dinner. After dropping Paul’s bags off at my apartment, we quickly made our way down to Fenway to a restaurant called Yardhouse.
I had been to Yardhouse on one prior occasion, and it honestly never disappoints. It’s a great atmosphere with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Plus, it has happy hour until 6:00 PM with half priced appetizers and pizzas. You can’t go wrong with that!
One of my favorite things about Yardhouse is the hundreds of beers they have on draft. I like to consider myself a beer connoisseur, that is only wheat beers
I started off with a Boulder Sweaty Betty Blonde which is brewed in Boulder, CO. It was a wheat beer with a slight honey and smoky taste. I liked it, but I knew I couldn’t have another one.
As Paul ordered our half priced crab cakes and BBQ chicken pizza, I ordered a Paulaner Heif Weizen brewed in Germany.
I loved this beer. It was served with a lemon wedge and was light with a slight fruity undertone. I could have easily drank this all night, but I wanted to keep switching it up. Up next was the Clown Shoes Clementine which had more alcohol content than any of the other beers. It was good, but after one I had enough. Right around this time my roommates Tom and kayla showed up and I made the switch to liquor.
Not my best idea of the night.
After inhaling the crab cakes and pizza, we weren’t really hungry for anything (other than alcohol
). We decided to head to Landsdowne, one of my favorite Fenway bars, for some karaoke.
I had a blast, but by 10:30 I was ready to head home. It was way past my (weekday) bedtime and there’s only so much off key singing one can take
On the agenda for tonight: catching up on some work that I’ve gotten behind on, dinner and a movie, and resting for tomorrow. We’re off to Mohegan Sun tomorrow where we’ll be spending the day and night making that cash money
Have a great weekend everyone!

looks a great time with even better company & drinks.

Thank you!
Looks like a fun time! Sometimes it’s even more fun to go out for some drinks during the week because it isn’t the usual weekend vibe and crowd and some places offer great deals or specials to get you there.
Enjoy your weekend!
I definitely agree! I can’t remember the last time I went out during the week and it was such a nice change of pace than the usual Friday/Saturday night crowd. Plus, I haven’t had a relaxing Friday in forever and it was so great to relax!
