40′s and Freezing

December 27, 2012

Well, I’m back in Boston – and it’s not too happy to see me. Quite a change from a week ago when I was enjoying the sunny weather isn’t it?

I was supposed to head into the office today, but after waking up at 4:00 AM there was no way I was doing that. Instead, I’m giving myself a recovery day. After a week of laying by the pool I think I deserve it? ;) KIDDING! But seriously, I was way too exhausted to drive to the office so movies & working from home is on the agenda for today!

With all these Christmas festivities going on, I haven’t had to think about what I want to blog about lately – the Christmas talk just comes naturally! I guess I should update you all on what I’ve been up to when I haven’t been decking the halls with bells of holly (fa la la la la la la la la).

On Saturday my family and I went to my cousin’s 5th birthday party at Double Down bounce athletics.

This place is a child (and parent’s) dream. Bounce houses, obstacle courses and trampolines galore! We had a blast running around with my cousins and acting like little kids again :)

After grabbing some lunch at Chipotle (and correcting my dad who pronounced Chipotle like Chi-Pole-Ee) the family took a field trip to the driving range. My dad wanted to test out his new driver that he got for Christmas, and I wanted to learn how to hit a golf ball – perfect combination for father/daughter bonding. I just wish it was warm enough in Boston for me to practice at the driving range!

Later that night I met up with three of my best friends from high school for drinks, catching up, and lots of laughs. I’m so lucky to have a group of friends where no matter how long it’s been since you’ve all been together, when you’re reunited it’s like no time has passed at all. That, my friends, is the definition of a best friend.

We went to my local favorite, Alehouse, for buckets of beer, several pitchers of Sangria and Irish Car Bombs courtesy of two older gentlemen who happened to go to Florida State. That’s Seminole Nation y’all.

Sunday my sister and I finished up our last minute Christmas shopping and went for hour long massages at In Style Hair & Spa. It was an early Christmas present from our aunt and it was exactly what I needed. My back was tight and tense from tennis and golf the day before, which made the massage even better.

Christmas Eve was spent with my wonderful family

and Christmas Day was spent getting spoiled by Santa Claus.

I couldn’t have asked for a better Christmas, I am so very lucky to have such an amazing family!

My last day in Florida was spent at the beach with my mom and my sister. There were a few rain showers, but it’s nothing that we couldn’t wait out in the car. By the afternoon the clouds had completely cleared out and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky!

It was the perfect way to end my vacation.

Now I’m back in Boston, where I haven’t even looked at my desktop because I’m sure the pile of things to do is higher than I want to imagine. But hey, that’s a problem for tomorrow. Instead, I’m curled up in bed reading books on my new Kindle Fire (LOVE IT!) and watching The Ugly Truth on USA — the only way to spend a rainy day.

Tomorrow I’ll be in the office all day playing catch up, so I’ll doubt I’ll have a chance to write up a post. Instead, I’ll see you guys on Monday for New Years Eve! Have a WONDERFUL weekend!

I’m watching the Ugly Truth right now too! That sounds like a necessary way to spend you first day back in New England. The worst weather we’ve had in forever! I haven’t left the couch since I got sent home from my internship at 9:30 this morning haha
