Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

June 12, 2012

Happy Tuesday everybody! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We’re going to start this week’s post off with a little weekend recap. In case you missed it, my sister and our friend Natalie came to visit me in Boston for the weekend! Although I had seen my sister two weeks prior, I couldn’t wait to spend time with both her and Natalie and do a little drinking exploring with just the girls! :)

My weekend started Thursday night when the three of us went down to The Garden for the Celtics vs. Heat game. My roommate and some of his friends met up with us and we had a blast watching the game in the heart of Boston!

We drank, we danced, we watched the Celtics get killed by the Heat game ;)

Before I knew it, it was 2:00 AM and I had work the next morning. SO it was back to the apartment, but not before grabbing a pizza from my favorite late night pit stop, Fast Eddies!

Friday was rough. I was stuck in the office from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm and let me tell ya, it’s not a fun thing to do with a pounding headache. Halfway through the day my roommate and I had this brilliant idea to head to Foxwoods Casino for the night to do a little gambling $$$.

I’m a blackjack junkie, so there was no question about it. I was in!

The four of us got all dressed up and made the hour and a half trek over to Connecticut. When we arrived, we met up with a few of my roommate’s friends at the MGM. After meeting up, we went downstairs to hit the floor!

Before I made it rain any gambling was done, we decided to go bowling at the bowling alley downstairs. It wasn’t like any bowling alley I’d been to before! I felt like I had stepped into a VIP area of a club and it just so happened to have bowling lanes inside of it. Hey, it works for me! But after $18 for the game, $5 for the socks, and $20 for the drinks, it was by far the most expensive game of bowling I’d ever played!

You’re never fully dressed without high socks and bowling shoes ;)

Next it was to the casino floor where the boys dropped $$$ on red, and I bee-lined my way to the blackjack table. Winner winner, chicken dinner! I ended up winning $60 for the night and I was completely happy with that (especially considering I had been down $160 at one point… ;) ). Around 3 in the morning everyone was ready to go. We could have stayed in our friend’s hotel room, but I was wide awake on a gambler’s high so I grabbed a soda for some caffeine and we began the drive back to Boston.

When I left Foxwoods it was completely dark. When we arrived in Boston, the sun was up.

It was time for me to hit the sack.

After a couple hours of sleep, we woke up and made our way to Quincy. Natalie was visiting family for a baby shower, so Steph and I decided to head down to the Quincy Beach to kill some time and I could get some studying done for a test I had Monday.

Five hours and no sunscreen later, my back was as red as a lobster and I had gotten through one chapter of my course guide.

Ooops!

It was worth it though. I had a blast laying around people watching with Steph at the beach. Before we knew it, we were off to pick up Natalie and then making our way back to Boston.

Although our last night together in Boston didn’t go exactly as planned (#YODO Steph ;) hahahaha….) we had a great time watching the game and playing our family favorite, TROUBLE! :)

The next day I was sad to see Steph & Natalie head out, but it was time to study. I made a little make-shift study area next to our living room window so I could get fresh air, natural light, and, of course, people watch.

I’m happy to report that yesterday morning I took my very first AIC exam and passed!!! Looks like I should spend the whole weekend before my tests partying with my sister more often ;)

Because of my test yesterday, I didn’t get much work done. And the worst part about my job is the work never goes away. So I have a pile of it sitting on my laptop and I’m off to go tackle it. Happy Tuesday, have a wonderful week. It’s almost halfway over! :)

Hahaha probably because I don’t talk about the days when I sit on the couch and watch Grey’s Anatomy all day… like right now. ;)

VEGAS!? Oh my goodness, Vegas is one of my favorite places! And it’s definitely better when you’re on a gambler’s high ;)
