Froyo Festivities
Happy Thursday everybody, it’s almost the weekend! Boston is supposed to be sunny in the 70′s this weekend so I plan on making my way down to the beach to soak up some rays. I’ve been away from Florida for WAY too long
Last night I embarked on my very first blogger meet-up! Several bloggers in the Boston area and I got together and went to J.P. Licks in Somerville for some very delicious fro-yo
I met up with Tracy, Amy, Tessa, Sarah, and Lindsay (thanks again for the photo Lindsay! Didn’t want to shove 5 different cameras on someone again
). I was so nervous at first, I actually felt like I was going on a blind date for the first time. How would I find them? What if they didn’t recognize me? What if I didn’t recognize them? What if they didn’t like me? So many thoughts were running through my head as I was walking up. Although I had read almost all of their blogs before, I wasn’t sure what it would be like when I actually met them face to face.
When I saw Lindsay I immediately felt relieved and knew I wouldn’t be that awkward person wandering around the plaza looking for friends. It was such a great experience to meet everyone and get a feel for their personalities in person rather than over the internet. I had so much fun sharing blogging stories, real life stories, and just chatting about what brought each of us to the Boston area. I can’t wait to do it again guys!!
(^^^Please excuse my bangs. It appears they had a mind of their own yesterday.)
After chatting for a bit, it was time for the froyo! I had never been to J.P. Licks, but I was torn between the chocolate chip cookie and peanut butter chip froyo. I ended up getting the chocolate chip cookie but I added reeses pieces to get my peanut butter fix with fruity pebbles.
Yup, you read that right. This bad ass added some fruity pebbles to the mix.
It was awesome.
And now it’s time to get down to business. Although I would love nothing more than to throw on my bathing suit and hit the beach (seriously, it’s sunny and in the seventies, WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR!?) I’ll be spending today working from home to get everything finished up before the weekend. What I will not be doing is cleaning up the pile of clothes covering my entire floor. (Yes guys, it’s still there).
Tonight I’m off to the gym for another great workout with Jamal, and then meeting up with my best friend Dani to catch up on her recent trip to Vegas (VEGAS BABY!) as well as our costumes and strategy for this weekend. Dani’s roommate is throwing a Beer Olympics party for her boyfriend and has separated us all into teams with three girls and two boys. Although I won’t be representing America (the other boys claimed it already, damn them) I WILL be representing Tracy’s home country, Ireland! Tracy, please tell me where I can buy a kilt ASAP
You would think after spending four years at FSU I would be skilled in Beer Olympics, but this is actually my first time. Guess I should go watch Beerfest or something…
Happy Thursday everybody!

So glad you had a great time! I was super nervous for my first blogger meet-up too, but so glad I did it!
That’s exactly how I felt! I was sooo nervous walking up but afterwards I was so happy I went through this new experience. It makes me excited for the next one!
LOVED meeting you!!! You are so fun and awesome
. And your dress was super cute btw. Have fun with Jamal tonight hehe
I know I’m so happy we finally got to meet before you left for Ohio. I’m just sad we didn’t do this sooner!! And I’ll let Jamal know my froyo friends said hey
hahaha
I had such a great time! We must do it again soon!
Love this!! I am proud to have such an amazing athlete represent my great country in one of the most challenging sports-that is drinking…good luck
I won’t let you (or your country) down! We’ll be the victors of beer Olympics!
That sounds like such a fun meet up!
It was! If you’re ever in town you’ll have to let me know and we can all meet up again!
This was so lovely to read girl, it was wonderful to meet you yesterday! You are so nice, friendly and easy to talk to and I look forward to seeing you again
Fruity Pebbles AND froyo – I dont think i would ever need anything else in life. hahah. that is so fun that you got to meet up with other bloggers! Good Luck with the beer olympics, it’s funny that while i had my share of far too many beer pong, flip cup, and relay race games i have never done a beer olympics either – def. let me know how it goes!!!!
I can’t wait for the post-beer Olympics post. I’ll be sure to bring my camera, although I don’t know if that’s necessarily a good thing. I tend to get “drunk eyes” after one too many. When I look back at the photos sometimes it’s like a slideshow of watching me get drunk hahaha
looks like you guys had a blast!! love seeing bloggers meet up – especially when fro-yo is involved. I so would have gotten the fruity pebbles too!
I’m so glad you are blogging again, boo. I saw a couple of your posts pop up in my reader and was like “i need to get serious about this blogging thing again, too.” You’re always fun to read and i love your “voice”
p.s. i had fro-yo last night too and made the terrible mistake of mixing too many sweet things together so the effect was something like “ew gross.” It’s an art, i think.
I literally was just starting to catch up on everything I’ve missed being away and I saw that you had stopped as well! I was SO sad! I’ve added emilyahutchinson to my google reader so now I can follow you POST a lady in love
And in regards to the froyo, I got lucky. I had to make sure to not eat too many reeses pieces and fruity pebbles together because that was just a hot mess. It’s definitely an art hahaha
P.S. your comment just made my day.
Hi Sara! I just linked to you from Lindsay’s blog. Next time you girls do a little meet up let me know! I would love to meet some fellow Boston bloggers! Or maybe we can set up another one for next month at some point!
Aw the blogger meetup looked so fun! I hope to one day attend a meetup in Chicago but I’m sure I would be shy and afraid too :/
