Hacked + Giveaway Winner!
I’m baaaaaack!
Miss me??
Unfortunately, I wasn’t away meeting all the amazing bloggers at Healthy Living Summit. Nooooooo, instead, I was MIA because my blog was hacked.
Let’s rewind a bit, shall we??
Friday was just another Friday, and by that I mean I was glancing at the clock every 43 seconds.
2 hours left… 1 hour and 58 minutes left… 1 hour and 54 minutes left… Time was going by a little slow. To pass the time, I decided to finish up my Friday post to share as soon as I got home.
Side note: Isn’t my cubicle the cutest? Siiiiiiike. I know it’s kind of bare. Apparently I would rather decorate my walls with The Office quotes and popped balloons (don’t ask) rather than photos of my friends and family.
I finished up my post, hit Save, and then sat back to relax and enjoy my Friday afternoon with my delicious red velvet cupcake. After all, the week wouldn’t be complete without the party planning committee (yes, we really have a party planning committee) bringing us some treats!
Best. Cupcake. I’ve. Ever. Had. In. My. Life.
Do any of you watch Cupcake Wars?? Well they ordered them from Sweet, the bakery owned by Holly!! Absolutely amazing. If you live in the Orlando area, I highly suggest you try a Red Velvet cupcake ASAP.
After work I met up with one of my best friends who had started her first week of teaching. We decided to stop by Chilis for a drink (or two) to talk about life, our jobs, and how it feels to be real working women
As soon as I got home, I logged into WordPress to only be denied. Thinking maybe I had one too many drinks, I slowly typed out my username and password again.
Denied.
I tried for a third time, typing each letter out and double checking which keys I pressed, hit Enter, and watched as I was told that I had entered an incorrect password.
What the heck?
Thinking that maybe it was just a snag in the system, I figured my Friday post could wait til Saturday morning. Plus, the beers I had were starting to take effect and I could feel my eyelids getting verrrrrry heavy
I decided to sleep on it.
Saturday morning I woke up bright and early to only find out that I was still locked out of my account. I was starting to get a little worried, so I quickly sent an email to WordPress before getting ready for the day.
My grandma and I had plans to go on a day cruise filled with buffets, cocktail hours, and gambling. Okay okay, it was a gambling cruise not a day cruise
but in all honesty it was pretty much the same thing (minus a pool to lay out by). Around 10:00 we arrived at Port Canaveral and boarded the Victory ship!
Because my grandma is such a VIP
we had a buffet lunch available to us in the private lounge.
Not only was the food fantastic, but there wasn’t a moment where I didn’t have a full mimosa in front of me. I was on my third glass when I realized I probably should slow down or it was going to be a long day
The Victory wasn’t as large and spacious as a cruise ship, but it was still big enough to get lost in! It had 4 decks: two of which were casino’s with slot machines and table games (hellooo blackjack!). The other floor was a dining/cocktail area, and the top deck was a bar with a lounge for those who wanted to sit and relax, and a band to enjoy some music while you enjoyed a beer
After eating, I left my grandma at the slots and immediately made my way to the blackjack tables. I’m a sucker for the blackjack tables. In Vegas, that’s where my butt was planted any time we walked into a casino. I wanted to play the $5 minimum blackjack table, but that was filled by the time I made my way downstairs. As I was walking around, I noticed a cute boy sitting at a $10 minimum blackjack table, so I immediately made my way over to him
If you’ve never been on one of these cruises, you should know that a cute boy sighting on a gambling cruise where the youngest person (besides myself) is probably 50 is a rare sighting.
I had a blast at my table with the dealer and the guy next to me. The time flew by and before I knew it, it was 4:00, we were heading back to the port, and I was $300 richer!
I’d say it was definitely a good day!
When I got home, I tried logging onto my blog again. Once again I was faced with an “incorrect username/password” notification, and I was so frustrated. I checked my email to see if WordPress had contacted me and, luckily, they did. Apparently some passwords weren’t loaded onto a secure file, mine being one of them, which opened the door for hackers. Luckily they allowed me to change my password AND I received a 15% discount off my next WordPress purchase. My own domain possibly?? Here I come!
Thankfully whoever hacked my account and changed my password didn’t do anything to my blog (as far as I’m concerned) besides hinder me in posting my weekly Friday post! It could have been way worse in my opinion
Since I wasn’t able to log on, I wasn’t able to pick my giveaway winner until last night!! Congratulations to **Tiff at Love, Sweat, and Beers! You are the winner of my very first giveaway, YAY!

I’m off to get in a quick workout and then catch up on my Google Reader before Bachelor Pad tonight!! With over 300+ posts (with probably half of them being about HLS) I have a lot of reading to do. Sigh. I’m so jealous I wasn’t at HLS. I feel like one of those girls who’s mom wouldn’t let her to go a slumber party with all her friends, and then had to see the pictures/hear all about it at school the next day
Oh well, there’s always next year!
Have a great night everyone!
Did you go to HLS? What was your favorite part?
If you didn’t go, what did you do this weekend?
What are you looking forward to tomorrow?

Oh goodness, as much as I desperately wanted to win this…. I’m thinking that you possibly mis-quoted (or mis-screen-shotted!!)
So sorry about the haXor, they’re just the absolute worst. I got so many HLS tweet DMs spam bits this weekend, it was totally obno.
Also, why aren’t there more gambling cruises? Lame.
YIKES! I’m so sorry, keep an eye out for an email from me soon though
Sadly I was not at HLS this weekend either..booo. Oh well. I got home from Florida on Friday, and then pretty much relaxed the rest of the weekend. I saw The Help yesterday- it was so good!
WAHH! I can’t believe that happened to you, but discount, yes please! I was not at HLS either sadly but maybe next year. If it’s close to me.
I wasn’t at HLS this weekend, but definitely enjoyed looking at posts about it! Sorry about your blog getting hacked- what a huge bummer! I’m glad things got sorted out quickly. Enjoy reading blog posts AND watching Bachelor pad. Sounds like a fun night!
oh wow! i’m glad they didn’t mess with your blog and that you are able to get back on now
I think i need to make a party planning committee a necessity when i look for jobs- what a great idea and that cupcake looks delish!
my weekend was pretty good, didn’t win no $300! ha but my cousin got married and she let me be their wedding photographer (it was a REALLLLY small country wedding) then i went to my friends engagement party!
I didn’t go…I was at a bridal shower in Michigan. I would love to go next year though!!!
Glad you got it figured out and are back at it!
Yay! How exciting! I’m sorry to hear about the blog issues. That’s no fun. Glad you’re back.
Boo on getting hacked, thats awful!
I didn’t attend HLS this year, but I was in Vegas for the weekend with my Husband
Looks like (besides the hacking) you had a great weekend
VEGAS? Hmmm I just may take that over HLS
Hope you had a blast! When I went it was AMAZING
Oh my goodness, I can’t believe you got hacked. That’s scary!
I wasn’t at HLS either
I really, really wanted to go, too! I hope I’ll be able to make it next year!
LETS DO ITTT!
That cupcake looks amazing!! I’m sorry about your hacking. That totally sucks
I love Sweet it is dangerously close to where I live…It is adorable that you went on a gambling cruise with your grandma, I always wondered what they were like. It looks like it could be a fun little day trip!
I can’t believe I just discovered it! It was SO GOOD. I’m trying to cut out sweets, but I can’t stop dreaming about my red velvet cupcake!
I cant believe someone would hack into your account and change your password!! Grr I would have been so mad lol And what a lovely day cruise, your grandma is super cute and all the food?!! Yummy!!
Somehow I didn’t realize you lived in my area!! LOVE Sweet!.
My self-hosted site got hacked a few weeks ago and it was really scary and creepy! I DON’T understand why people waste their time doing stuff like that. What a waste.
LOL on the day cruise. I have never been – but it does sound kinda fun
I didn’t know that either! Blogger meetup? Yes please!
I wish I had gone to HLS! Next year I am making a point to though!
That is crazy (and obnoxious) and the hacking business…ugh what a pain
Your eats do look might tasty though, so glad you enjoyed the cruise!
Heyyyy…..just thought I’d share my “new” blog that my friend and I are doing together. I’ll still have my other one, too, but this is more fun and incognito! http://twohenscluckin.wordpress.com/
I’m from Orlando as well, and Sweet cupcakes are my absolute favorite. They’re so moist and yummy!! My cubicle walls are also extremely bare. I get a ton of slack from my co-workers who want me to decorate more. I just never think to bring anything in to put up!
